something just as interesting regarding the advent of the Guitar, and the vibrating String itself.

The first stringed Instrument known to exist was the Bow itself (13,000 BC) which developed from the hunting bow, not the Violin Bow.

From this simple single-stringed instrument, more complex instruments with multiple strings evolved, such as: (Harps, Lyres and Lutes) dating back over 3,000 years).

The Acoustic Guitar itself dates back (approx)

200 years and the Electric less than 100.

When I think of the fact that both the Harpsichord (plucked) and the Piano (hammered) are really Stringed Instruments as well, I am enamored all the more to think how important

a simple String truly is..

The vibrating String is a phenomenon as it

creates sound by moving air; the string's vibration is transmitted through the instrument's body (via a bridge) and amplified by its resonating chamber, which produces sound waves we perceive as music. The pitch of the sound is determined by the string's length, tension, and thickness, while the specific combination of these factors and the resonant properties of the instrument's body create its unique timbre(tonal Color).

The String by itself will emit a pitch but without some sort of vibrating body ( to add depth, timbre, volume and resonance) it’s very thin and colorless, as you could imagine..

So next thyme you string up your chosen Instrument, make sure you use quality Strings that are thick enough(hint) to effectively vibrate the Body and wake up the Tone Gods!
